Hi there!

I believe the answer you're looking for is that redox reaction takes place between the two substances, forming sulphur dioxide and water.

S
ulphur is oxidised to sulphur dioxide by hot and concentrated sulphuric acid, and the acid also gets reduced to the same product (sulphur oxide) by sulphur.

Hope this helps! :)
