Hi,

Work:

Equation;

[tex] |x| = - |x| [/tex]

The statement is true only if both sides are equal to 0.

[tex] \binom{ |x| = 0}{ - |x| = 0 } [/tex]

Calculate for both x.

[tex] \binom{x = 0}{x = 0} [/tex]

Find intersection.

[tex]x = 0 \: \: \: \: \: \: \: result[/tex]

The answer is sometimes. The statement is true if x is 0, and everything else is not possible.

Hope this helps.
