To find the answer:
-2 1/4 × -4 1/2
When both numbers are negative, we take it out so that the answer would be positive.
= 2 1/4 x 4 1/2
= (2x4+1)/4 x (4×2+1)/2
= 9/4 x 9/2
= 9x9/4x2
= 81/8
= 8x10+1/8
= 10 1/8
Therefore the answer is 10 1/8
