So the equation is 9x+60=10x-2. The answer is 62.

9x+60=10x-2

-9         -9

60=x-2

+2     +2

62=x


To check your work, you need to plug the numbers back in to the original equation.

9(62)+60=10(62)-2

558+60=620-2
