please help me! if the average amount of earthquakes with a magnitude of 4 or higher was 10,000 per year approximately how many would have registered as 6 or higher
I don't think there's a way you can really answer this. Magnitude doesn't really work in a probabilistic way like that. While a magnitude 6 quake is 900 times stronger than a 4, it doesn't mean you only see one magnitude 6 for every 900 magnitude 4.
