first fill in the x with 1

-1x-24=-6x+1

then you get the smallest variable witch is -6x and add it to both variables

5x-24=1

then you get the constant witch is -24 and add it to 1 and -24

5x=25

then you get the coefficient witch is 5 and divide it to both numbers

x=5
