Emily is 17 because if you divide 26 by 2 and get 13 then add 4 to it to get 17 then grace would also 9 years old.

e = Emily

g = Grace

e = g + 4

e + g = 26

g + 4 + g = 26

2g = 22

g = 22/2 = 11

e = g + 4 = 15

Emily is 15 years old.
