Use distributive property a(b + c) = ab + ac.

[tex]2x(y^2+3)-5(3+y^2)=(2x)(y^2)+(2x)(3)+(-5)(3)+(-5)(y^2)\\\\=2xy^2+6x-15-5y^2[/tex]
