Eduardo rented a bike from James' Bikes. It cost $19 plus $6 per hour. If Eduardo paid $49 then he rented the bike for how many hours?

So to solve this, you would have to write the equation, which is 49=6x+19

Then solve your equation.

49=6x+19
-19        -19
30=6x
/6     /6

5=x

So he rented it for 5 hours.
