Sita Ram's main claims about what caused the Sepoy Rebellion is that Sita was complaining over how the cartridges of fat were causing problems in Oudh. Sita Ram was a sepoy who remained loyal to British even he had his doubts about them. Sepoy believed that the rifle cartridges were greased with pig and cow fat.
