Solve the system of inequalities 4x+y=16 2x+3y=-2

Answer: (5,-4)

Use elimination to eliminate y, and find x. Then plug in x into one of the equations to find y.

[tex](3)4x+y=16(3)\\12+3y=48\\-2x+3y-2\\10x/1050/10\\x=5\\\\\\4(5)+y=16\\20+y=16\\-20    -20\\y=-4[/tex]
