True im assuming because your eyes take in an upside down image and then flips it so you see it right side up

True, the lens in your eye forms an upside-down image of the world.

The reason why we do not see images upside-down is because of our brain. Our brain corrects the vision so it will be "easier" and "clearer" to see.
