A line passes through the point (–2, 4), and its y-intercept is (0, –6). What is the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the first line and passes through the point (5, –4)?

Hello,

Slope of the first line= (-6-4)/(0+2)=-5
Slope of the perpendicular=1/5

==>y+4=1/5(x-5)==>y=x/5-5
