M+4(2m-3)=3

distribute 4 to (2m-3)...and you get 8m-12

we have M+8m-12=3 now

so add 12 on both sides

and you have M+8m= 15

i'm assuming M and m are like terms so I add M+8m= 9m

we have 9m=15

then divide by 9 on both sides

and you get m= 15/9 or 1.6667
