slope between points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

we are given
(6,-7) and (5,-9)
x1=6
y1=-7
x2=5
y2=-9

slope=(-9-(-7))/(5-6)=(-9+7)/(-1)=-2/-1=2

the slope is 2
