I remember doing this lab last year(^^♪. Starch stays in the cell because it is too big to diffuse out of the cell. Glucose diffuses out of the cell to equalize the glucose in the cell and outside of the cell. Same with the starch indicator. Therefore, the inside of the cell changes color.
