EF is halfway between AD and BC.
Using the midpoint formula:
[tex]4x=\frac{(x+6)+57}{2}[/tex]
⇒[tex]4x=\frac{x+63}{2}[/tex]
⇒[tex]8x=x+63[/tex]
⇒[tex]7x=63[/tex]
⇒[tex]x=9[/tex]
EF is [tex]4x=4(9)=36[/tex]
