A basket has 6 bananas, 2 oranges and 4 apples. What is the probability of pulling out an apple?

I think it's 8 but I'm not completely sure. What I did is 6+2+4 which is 12 and 12-4=8 but I'm not sure. I think it's wrong sorry I just need points..
