96 + 2x + (x + 12) = 180

-96                          -96

2x + (x + 12) = 84

-2x                  -2x

x + 12 = 84 - 2x

-x                 -x

12 = 84 - 3x

-84     -84

-72  = -3x

divide by -3 on both sides

24 degrees = x
