The 2 doubles the amplitude (the height of the curve)
The +3 translates the whole curve up 3 units
The period tells you the space between repetitions of the curve.
When x = 0, y = 2 x 1 + 3 = 5
This next happens when pi/3 x = 2pi so x would = 6
The period of the curve = 6
