The slope of the line perpendicular to y=3x+4 is -1/3 (negative reciprocal of 3).
so point (6,7) is on the line y=(-1/3)x + b
plug in x and y:
7=(-1/3)*6 +b
7= -2+b
b=9
[tex]y=-\frac{1}{3}x+9[/tex]
