Which value of x makes the equation 8x + 38 = 2(11x + 5) true?

8x+38=2(11x+5)
divide 2 from both sides
4x+19=11x+5
minus 4x from both sides
19=7x+5
minus 5 from both sides
14=7x
divide by 7
2=x

so x would be 2
