Mesophyll cells (both palisade and spongy) are packed with chloroplasts, and this is where photosynthesis actually occurs. Epidermis also lines the lower area of the leaf(as does the cuticle). The leaf also has tiny holes within the epidermis calledstomata (H-light green).
