To convert the 3 to twelve I have to multiply it by 4. What ever you do to the bottom you do the top so I multiply 2 to get 4.
Therefore, 2/3 = 8/12
by the same rules, 3/4 = 9/12.
So from this you can see that 3/4 is bigger.
