Explain how you would find the sum of 4.2 and 2.14

In order for us to find the sum of two numbers with decimals, the first thing we need to do is to align the decimal points. It would look like this:
    4.2
+  2.14
------------
Now just add the numbers like the usual process, and it gives us the sum of 6.34. Hope this answers your question.
