The majority of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur on the edges of each tectonic plate, as seen in this map. The pacific plate has majority of earthquakes and volcanoes. There are several earthquakes on the Pacific plate's edge near America, as well as numerous earthquakes and volcanoes on the Pacific plate's edge above Australia.
