-3x+9y=-57

Substitute the x for 4

-3(4)+9y=-57

-12+9y=-57

Add +12

-12+9y=-57

+12 +12

9y=-45

Now divide the 9 to get y by itself

9y=-45

÷9 ÷9

y=-5

So the value of y is -5
