Expand & simplify 3(x-y)+4(x+2y)

First, distribute the 3 to the (x-y)
3*x-3*y or 3x-3y
The distribute the 4 to the (x+2y)
4*x+4*2y or 4x+8y
Then we have 3x-3y+4x+8y (combine like terms)
7x+5y
