First plug in f and g:
[tex]3 x^{2} +1- [1-x][/tex]
Then distribute [tex]3 x^{2} +1-1+x[/tex]
Combine like terms
[tex]3 x^{2} +x[/tex]
Now plug in 2 for x
[tex]3( 2^{2} )+2[/tex]
3(4)+2=12+2=14
