2x + -7 +8 = -x+16
2x + 1 = -x +16
2x +1 -1= -x +16 -1
2x+x = -x +x + 15
3x = 15
3x/3 = 15/3
x= 5

2(5) + -7 +8 = -5+16
10 +-7+8 = 11
11=11
