x+ y = 10
2x = 2y+4

2x/2 = 2/2y+4/2
x = y + 2

x+y = 10
y+2+y=10
2y + 2 = 10
2y +2-2 =10-2
2y = 8
2y/2 =8/2
y = 4

x + y =10
x + 4 =10
x +4-4 =10-4
x = 6

2x = 2y +4
2(6) = 2(4) +4
12 = 8+4
12= 12
