All you're doing is counting the units that make up the line, which is 6 units. You could also use the distance formula ([tex] \sqrt{(x_{1}-x_{2})^2+( y_{1}+ y_{2})^2 } [/tex]), but that isn't really necessary since the given line is horizontal.
