YOU ARE GOING TO FIND A COMMON DENOMINATOR  SO 9 1/4 IS GOING TO BE 9 5/20 AND 8 4/5 IS GOING TO BE 8 16/20 SO 5+16=21/20 1 1/20+17=18 1/20.SO YOUR ANSWER IS 18 1/20
