What do you think las casas hoped to accomplish by writing so critically about spanish treatment of the indians?

It was mostly religious. He believed that such monstrosities were against god and that if Spanish keeps behaving like that, terrible things will come to them at the hand of god. They were all highly religious so this way of thinking was nothing out of the ordinary, not just for Casas but also for others.
