The sum of two numbers is 42 . The smaller number is 10 less than the larger number. What are the numbers?

The answer is 26 and 16
26-16=10 so thats correct
and 
26+16=42

42 = x + (x-10)
52 = 2x
/2      /2
26 = x

Therefore the numbers are:
1) 26
2) 16 (26 - 10)
