There are more hydrogen atoms in living organisms than any other atom but oxygen is more abundant in terms of mass why is this statement true?

Hydrogen is more abundant overall throughout the universe. But here in Earth oxygen is more abundant because Earth's crust is made of a lot of silicates and they contain a lot of Oxygen molecules.
