what I do is what is 1% of 250?, 2.5, right? so what is 2.5x35? 87.5 would be your answer. or you could do .35(percentage before multiplying by 100)x250, either way works.

'of' is multiplication.

35% is a percentage, and percentages are parts of 100, so divide 35 by 100.

[tex]\sf35\div100=0.35[/tex]

So we have:

[tex]\sf0.35\times250[/tex]

Multiply:

[tex]\sf87.5[/tex]
