9x+ 10y= 26

Subtract the first equation from the second equation to eliminate x
2 (9x + 10y) - (9x + 2y) = 26 - (-38)
3 8y = 64
4 y = 8
5 Substitute y = 8 into the first equation to solve for x
6 9x + 2(8) = -38
7 9x + 16 = -38
8 9x = -54
9 x = -6
