This model is called the ball-and-stick models. An example of an ethanol molecule is shown in the picture. This model is useful if you want to model accurately the angles at which the atoms are attached to each other within a molecule. The balls represent the elements and may vary in size or in color. The sticks represent the bonds between the atoms.
