Suppose you buy 3 pizzas for a party. Each pizza is cut into 8 slices. Twenty slices are eaten. How many whole pizzas are eaten? Determine the answer as a mixed number

3 *8 = 24 total slices

2 pizzas would be 16 slices

 so 2 whole pizza were eaten

 and 4/8 of the 3rd was eaten

 for a total of 2 1/2 pizzas eaten
