Distance is the formula : 

D[tex]AB[/tex] = [tex] \sqrt{(xA - xB)^2 + (yA - yB)^2} [/tex]
 
so 

[tex] \sqrt{(-1 - 11)^2 + (-3 + 8)^2} [/tex]

= 13
