Let 's assume AD=x,DC=6-x.
Using angle nisector theorem:
AD/DC=AB/AC
==> x/(6-x)=8/10
==>10x=48-8x
==>18x=48
==>x=48/18
==>x=24/9=2+2/3 (2.666666666.....)
Answer is false, the correct answer is 2 2/3
