f(x) = x^2 + 1
f(1) = 1
^2 + 1 = 2
so 2f(1) = 2(2) = 4

g(x) = 3x + 1
f(4) = 3(4) + 1 = 13
3g(4) = 3(13) = 39

 2f(1) + 3g(4) = 4 + 39 = 43

answer
2. 43
