This can be solved by dividing 50 by 3 (the amount of friends, you're spiting the money with.)
50/3=16.6667
We have to round down in order to get a whole number: 16
16*3=48
50-48=2
If 50 cents is divided equally among three friends, each would get 16 cents and there would be 2 cents left over.
