Simplify and solve this equation for q: 3q + 5 + 2q – 5 = 65.

=>3q+5+2q-5 = 65 =>3q + 2q +5 - 5 - 65 = 0 =>5q -65 =0 =>5q = 65 =>q = 65/5 =>q= 13.. =>so the answer is option B (q=13).. Hope it helps !!!

My answer is B. 13
The -5 and 5 cancel out so you dont need to subtract from either side.
