To calculate for the standard deviation given the probability, we use the formula:

s = sqrt (n p q)

where s is standard deviation, n is number of samples = 11, p is probability of success = 0.7, q = 1 – p = 0.30

 

s = sqrt (11 * 0.7 * 0.3)

s = 1.52
