I can't tell you exactly why as to the answer you're looking for is different for everyone. However, why I believe people are supporting this is because if kids start to work at a young age they're able to get prepared for the real world. Obviously, we're not going to have 8-year-old working in a factory...but many kids that are over the age 15 and are willing to work.
