Solve 5x+c = k for x

5x + c = k

1c + 5x = k 

add -5 to each side
1c - 5 + 5x = k - 5

Combine like terms:
5x + -5x = 0
1c + 0 = k + 5x
 1c = k + -5x

Divide each side by 1 
c = 1k + 5x

X= -c+k/5 subtract c on both sides then divide by 5 to get x by itself
