A beta minus (b-) particle is sometimes also called a beta ray. It is notable for the lowercase beta symbol that is often use for it. It is high in energy and speed in its electron or positron that is leaked from it via radioactive decay of the nucleus of the atom, an example would be potassium-40 nucleus that is going through active beta decay.
