What is the importance of the fertile crescent

The fertile crescent was very important. It is where civilization and Mesopotamia began. The two rivers, Tigris and Euphrates passed near each other and provided very good/fertile soil for agriculture and it also allowed for trading along the rivers. 

It was the rise of writing and agriculture.
